Shadow Camp
Guidelines
Disclaimer: The following is a Shadow Camp roleplay and organisation guide. It is not enforced by DrachenFest staff or official DrachenFest rules.
The Shadow
Shadow Camp Guidelines
Welcome to the Shadow
This is not a rulebook. It is a guide built to help us get more out of DrachenFest, deepen roleplay, and give everyone a place to start, step up, or sink in.
Pick a role. Make one up. Tell someone you are keen, speak to a leader, or tap an Elder on the shoulder.
The Shadow thrives when we collaborate, back each other, and make something unforgettable together.
Camp Structure and Hierarchy
Leadership is dynamic. Strength is tested. All power flows in service of the Shadow Dragon.
Shadow Camp Guidelines
Roles
Core Roles — Elected at DrachenFest Start
Core positions are voted on at the start of DrachenFest. Interested players should make themselves known in Discord before the event.
- Martial / Warlord of Shadows: leads military operations, tactics, security and organised force.
- Champion of Shadow: represents the camp in honour combat and symbolic challenges.
- Ritualist / Archmage of Shadows: oversees ritual magic, dark rites and magical defences.
- Spymaster / The Hidden Eye: maintains spy networks, internal loyalty and secrets.
- Diplomat / Voice of the Veiled Pact: handles alliances, confusion and external relations.
- Flag Bearer: keeps the Shadow banner visible and defended.
Appointed and Developed Roles
These positions support the core roles and give players additional roleplay responsibilities. They may be chosen by council, earned through play, or rotated by leaders.
All power in Shadow is borrowed. The wise return it before it is taken.

Elder Council
They do not command. They whisper.
Elders are those who have served the Shadow through leadership and may be invited to continue as advisors, guardians of legacy and keepers of consequence.
- Wisdom, Not Authority: Elders advise, but do not override current leaders.
- Continuity of Shadow: Elders uphold camp identity across years.
- Crisis Counsel: Elders may mediate or advise in serious situations.
Shadow Camp Guidelines
Guiding Principles
- Silence is Power: loose tongues draw light.
- Ambition is Sacred: power is earned; strive and grow, but never betray.
- Unity is Cloaked: settle conflict away from the eyes of other dragons.
- Legacy is Everything: what you build may be forgotten by the world, but not by the Shadow.
Shadow Camp Guidelines
Joining Shadow
- Dress in Shadow Dragon colours: black, grey and deep violet.
- Be prepared to act with autonomy, but loyalty.
- You may be tested in ritual, battle or silence.
